New Catholic Resources for Marriage and Prayer
IPF Publications releases two compelling CD series for Deepened Prayer Lives and Stronger Marriages

Omaha, Nebr., January 09, 2009 - Struggles. Hardship. Crisis. These words are used in excess by the media to describe the times in which we live. But these are also words to describe the inner emotions of many personal lives.

When people's exterior lives are in chaos, their interior lives suffer. Even the most faithful Christian can wonder where God is during difficult times. Prayer can bring those who suffer closer to God and into a deep intimacy with our Heavenly Father. Deacon James Keating, Ph.D., Director of Theological Formation at the Institute for Priestly Formation at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska offers practical advice on how to pray and how to sustain a consistent prayer life.

Communion with Christ: Practical Prayer is a new 4-disc set that looks at the foundation and dynamics of deep Christian prayer and guides listeners to communicate with Christ. Keating stresses that God desires a personal relationship with us. "The fact that God desires us is one of the most powerful of all beginning principles of prayer. Prayer is not our search for a meaning; it is a response to a presence that has entered our reality," says Keating. "If Christians can accept this truth, this will help in our prayer life."

Even Christian marriages can feel the weight of a struggling economy, the occasional stress of family life, and the pressure of secular influences. Sometimes the spiritual core of the Christian marriage gets lost and needs to be recovered.

In his new CD series Marriage in the Lord: Poured out for Love, Deacon Keating explains that Jesus Christ is the source of all life and love and the Church acts as a guide to healthy and life-long marriages. "Being married in the Lord is the place where couples received their life - not only the life that is freely given to one another, but the sustaining life that Christ gives in a couple's love for one another. Both spouses need to be drawing from this core communion with Christ at the very heart of their love for one another."

Married in the Lord: Poured out for Love is a 4-disc set and is an invaluable resource for couples preparing for marriage as well as coupled who have been married for years.
